What is computer engineering?
Computer engineering is the marriage of computer science and
electrical engineering. It focuses on computing in all forms, from
microprocessors to embedded computing devices, notebook and desktop systems,
and supercomputers. It therefore refers to electrical engineering
considerations about how microprocessors operate, design and optimize; how data
is communicated between electronic components; how integrated electronic
systems are designed and how they work to process instructions expressed in
software; and how software is written, compiled and optimized for specific
hardware platforms. Thus, computer engineers are electrical engineers who
specialize in software design, hardware design, or system design that
integrates both.

difference between computer science and computer engineering
Informatics is the study of how computer devices process,
store, and communicate data and instructions. He is a modern descendant of
applied mathematics and electrical engineering, computer science deals with
algorithms for processing data, symbolic representation of data and
instructions, design of instructional languages for processing data,
techniques for writing software that processes data in a variety of computer
platforms, protocols for communicating data reliably and securely across
networks, organizing data in databases of various types and scales, mimicking
information and human learning through computer algorithms, statistical
modeling of data in large databases to support inference of trends and
techniques to protect data content and authenticity. Therefore, computer
scientists are scientists and mathematicians who develop ways to process,
interpret, store, communicate and protect data.
